With the increased interest in investing in crypto-markets, coupled with the advancements in machine learning, the need for clean, standardized information becomes critically important.
Whereas services exist which offer some level of standardized access to exchange data, this is restricted to simple current ticker information, polled at regular intervals. If one is interested in time series of tick-by-tick information, and perhaps even historical time series of real-time order books, and across exchanges then one has currently to build their own solution and deal with the irritating specifics of every single covered exchange.
The idea, then, is to start with building a service that offers access to high-quality time series of exchange data to begin with. This can then later also be coupled with advanced monitoring, analysis and perhaps trading services leveraging the data directly, and become the Bloomberg or Reuters of the crypto-currency markets.
